Sept. 19, 2025 – For the third consecutive year, the North Central College athletic department has partnered with the national organization RISE, as student-athletes attended workshops that focused on civic engagement Thursday, Sept. 18 inside Stevenson Hall.
 
Over 140 student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff attended the three sessions to discuss civic engagement. Within small groups, student-athletes discussed various examples of civic engagement by professional athletes before reflecting on the civic engagements they are involved in. The purpose of these workshops is to educate and empower the Cardinal athletic community to create positive change on campus and in their communities.
