Sept. 18, 2026 - In the first Cardinals RISE event of the 2026-2027 school year, the North Central College athletics department hosted a student-athlete event focused on individuals' identity.

Student-athletes were asked to define their identities by listing the top 10 components of their identity. As each was removed, they learned about where their true identity comes from. Sharonda Glover led Cardinals through which of their identities were surface-level, and which were deep.

This event is part of the UBelong initiative, led by the Cardinal Athletics Inclusion Team, and aims to ensure that student-athletes belong on their team, campus and community. North Central will host another Cardinals RISE event in the spring semester along with four Critical Conversations.
