Aleksa Gizewicz of the North Central College women's golf team each claimed Women's Golf Coaches Association's (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team honors for their commitment to excellence in athletics and academics.
To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in at least half of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year, nominated through the team's conference championship. In total, 1,497 golfers from 412 programs were recognized with WGCA All-American Scholar honors.
Gizewicz led the Cardinals with an 82.41 average score for 18 holes while Braker finished in second place on the team with an 82.53. Clifton, a 2023 WGCA All-American Scholar averaged an 82.88 on the year. Cooper, now a three-time WGCA All-American Scholar completed 11 rounds for the Cardinals with an 18-hole average of 87.09.
This marks the 37th WGCA academic honor for the women's golf program, with the first recognition coming in 2009.
The Cardinals posted its lowest single-season scoring average in program history with 329.53 during the 2023-24 season. The 2024-2025 campaign is set to begin in September.
