Cardinals Steady at No. 6 in USTFCCCA Rankings

NEW ORLEANS (Oct. 1, 2025) – The North Central College men's cross country team has maintained its No. 6 ranking in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Week Three Coaches' Polls. The organization announced its regional rankings on Tuesday, Sept. 30 followed by its national rankings on Wednesday, Oct. 1.
 
The top seven teams of the USTFCCCA national rankings remained the same from last week's rankings, with the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse still on top with nine first-place votes and 299 points. Wartburg sits second in the national rankings with one first-place votes and 291 points, and leads the Midwest region as the only team above the Cardinals in regional rankings.
 
SUNY Geneseo holds its No. 3 spot in national rankings with 275 points followed by Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in fourth (275) and Johns Hopkins University in fifth (258). North Central received more points in this week's rankings as its 252 points held onto its No. 6 ranking. The remaining four teams in the top 10 had little movement, with Tufts University sitting seventh (238), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps moving up one spot to eighth (230), Williams College falling to ninth (223), and RPI staying in tenth (209).
 
North Central will have another weekend of split competition with a group heading to the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday, Oct. 4 while another group heads to the Sauk Valley Skyhawk Invitational.
