WHITEWATER, Wis. (Jan. 31, 2025) – The North Central College men's track and field team traveled to compete in the Squig Converse Invitational where
Colton Oleson set a new program record to lead the nation in the high jump.
In a program record-setting measure of 2.16 meters (7 feet, 1 inch), Oleson sent himself to the No. 13 slot in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) record books. With this first-place leap, he now leads the nation this season.
The Cardinals also took home a victory in the 5000-meter run as
Oscar Frontjes finished in 15:11.74 with
Aidan Armstrong following in third (15:21.40),
Emerald Svienty in fourth (15:25.61), and
Jacob Everix in fifth (15:30.40). In the 60-meter dash,
Kamil Kokot flew to a second place finish in 8.39 seconds.
Marcus Caselberry led North Central in the 200-meter dash in second (22.41) with
Randall Reed coming just behind in third (22.44).
In field events,
James Ammenhauser took second (6.88m, 22' 7") in the long jump with
Prentice Myles taking fifth (6.61m, 21' 8.25"). For the shot put
Daniel Dominguez heaved a third slot measure of 15.04m (49' 4.25") and
Ben Balboa threw a fourth place 14.87m (48' 9.50").
Jayden Leise sealed a second place measure in the triple jump with 14.40m (47' 3"). The 4x400 relay had the Cardinals group A take third in 3:28.05 between the efforts of
Gabe Parker,
Arturo Martinez,
Zach Anderson, and Caselberry.
