WHITEWATER, Wis. (Feb. 1, 2025) – The North Central College women's track and field team competed in the Squig Converse Invitational, taking home two first place finishes and improvements to the program's top 10 times.
Lindsey Novak took the Cardinal victory in the 400-meter dash with a lightning-fast finish of 57.16 seconds. Novak also cruised to a second place finish in the 200-meter dash in 25.12 seconds. North Central's
Julia Benes overcame the 3000-meter run for a victory in 10:37.26. The pentathlon saw
Anna Cotter improve her previous eight-best program record of 2,762 to 2,793 points for ninth place in the meet.
On the field events side,
Gwen Berenyi led the Cardinal's best pole vault in second place measuring in at 3.86 meters (12 feet, 8 inches) to improve to third in the program's top ten. The weight throw had
Gabrielle Harding heave a third place measure of 15.39m (50' 6"). In the distance medley relay, group B took a second place finish (13:46.16) between the efforts of
Julia Benes,
Riley Landsverk,
Emma Cecich, and
Brianna Ruiz. Relay group A finished in 4:19.56 for fifth in the 4x400 relay between
Cali Minkie,
Elliana Keyes,
Betty Tsoutsas, and
Svetlana Uvakova.
