Feb. 24, 2025 - North Central College men's basketball student-athlete Terrance Moncrief has been recognized by the head coaches of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) with a selection to the 2024-2025 All-CCIW Second Team.

Moncrief is a first-time All-Conference honoree and leads the Cardinals in scoring (14.2 points per game), assists (3.4 per game), steals (1.4) and field-goal percentage (.544) this season. At the close of the regular season, Moncrief ranks fourth in the CCIW in assists and field-goal percentage, eighth in steals and 11th in scoring. Moncrief scored a career-high 24 points Wednesday in an 80-76 victory at Carroll University to clinch North Central's berth in this week's CCIW Tournament, and a 15-point, 10-assist effort at North Park University Jan. 18 was the senior's first double-double as a collegian.

Helwig is a first-time All-Conference honoree and leads in scoring (11.4 points per game) and rebounding (6.7 rebounds per game) this season. At the close of the regular season, Helwig ranks fourth in the CCIW in rebounds and 17th in scoring while sitting ninth in three-pointers made per game (2.0), and has turned in three double-doubles in points and rebounds this season. 

A starter in 54 games for the Cardinals, Moncrief ranks ninth in the program's history with 103 games played.

The CCIW also announced the nine winners of its RESPECT Award for the season. RESPECT Award recipients have distinguished themselves as an integral member of the team, their institution and community by upholding the values of Responsibility, Enthusiasm, Service, Pride, Excellence, Collaboration and Trust. The RESPECT Award recognizes the intangible traits a student-athlete possesses that exemplify great character and encourages inclusiveness and a positive culture. North Central's RESPECT Award honoree is sophomore forward Tyler Swierczek.

The Cardinals (14-11) travel to face North Park University (14-11) in the quarterfinal round of the CCIW Tournament Tuesday. Tipoff at North Park Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.Click HERE for links to live coverage.
