Crescent, MO. (March 24, 2025) – The North Central College women's golf team opened their spring season at the WashU Spring Invitational. The Cardinals had one top 20 finisher and finished in 12th place out of a 15-team field at Crescent Farms Golf Club.

The Cardinals finished Saturday with a total of 330 strokes in the weather-shortened event. The team race for first was tight throughout the first round with both University of Wisconsin-Stout and Grinnell College finishing tied for first with a total of 298. Illinois Wesleyan University (A) (301), WashU (303), and Illinois Wesleyan (B) (307) rounded out the top five. The WashU Spring Invitational was set for two rounds, but Sunday's round ultimately got halted by rainy conditions.

The WashU Spring Invitational was won by Grinnell's Kavya Keshav, Keshav shot a 5-under round of 66. North Central's Madison Place finished in a tie for 16th by shooting a 5-over round of 76, Place was the Cardinals' highest finisher on the day.

The next highest finisher for the Cardinals was Mallorie Clifton who shot an 11-over round of 82, which was good enough for 48th place. Rounding out the top 4 for the Cardinals were Aleksa Gizewicz and Nina Calibria. Gizewicz finished in 61st with a 13-over round of 84, while Calibria finished in 77th with a 17-over round of 88. Anna Meinhart, Sydney Tucker, and Audrey Jaworsky were the other competitors for the Cardinals. Meinhart finished in 82nd with a score of 91, Tucker finished with a score of 98 which placed her in 92nd, and Jaworsky finished in 95th place with a score of 100.

The Cardinals will head to the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling on April 12th, hosted by Illinois Wesleyan at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Ill.
