NORMAL, Ill. (April 14, 2025) – The North Central College women's golf team spent the weekend at Ironwood Golf Course, battling ranked teams at the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. The tough competition led to a 15th-place finish in the 21-team field.

The Cardinals finished round one with a total of 329, putting them right in the middle of the pack. On day two, the team totaled 356, leading them to their 15th-place finish with a 36-hole total of 685. St. Catherine University won the team competition, shooting 607. Illinois Wesleyan (617), Aurora University (635), Grinnell College (636), and St. Catherine (B) (641) rounded out the top five.

St. Catherine's Kyra Venne won the individual competition, finishing just three strokes over par (144). North Central's
Mallorie Clifton was the leader for the Cardinals. After finishing round one with a five-over-par 77, Clifton shot an 87 in round two to total 164 on the event, leading to a 38th place finish.

Just two shots behind Clifton was teammate
Madison Place, totaling 166. An 80 on day one followed by an 86 on day two led to 46th place.
Anna Meinhart was a few shots farther back in 72nd place, shooting 173 (84/89) over the two-day event.

Nina Calabria, competing as an individual, finished 80th, shooting steady with an 87 on day one and an 88 on day two to finish with a total of 175.
Tatiana Cooper was the next highest finisher for the Cardinals, shooting a total of 182 (88/94) and finishing in 103rd place.
Alexsa Gizewicz landed in 115th place, shooting a total of 189 (92/97).
