DECATUR, Ill. (Apr. 26, 2025) - Playing in their final event before the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championship, the North Central College men's golf team took sixth place at the Take Back the Night Challenge.
The Cardinals shot a 296 as a team in round one, which was played at South Side Country Club. They followed that up with a 299 on Saturday at Red Tail Run. Mitchell Mazzei led the squad with a 144 (+2) to tie for 18th place in the field. Brendon Joy (147, +5), Zachary Lunde (149, +7) and Cole Martin (157, +15) rounded out the team score for North Central.
Illinois Wesleyan University (559) won the team competition with the Titans' Quinn Clifford finishing first at 135 (-7). The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (564), Calvin University (580), Mississippi University for Women (581) and Illinois Wesleyan B (586) rounded out the top five teams.Â
The Cardinals play in the CCIW Championship, which begins on Thursday. The three-day event will take place at Weaver Ridge Golf Course in Peoria, Ill.
