Apr. 8, 2025 - For the third consecutive season, the North Central College women's wrestling team was named the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar All-American Team Champions, the organization announced on Tuesday.

North Central is the top-ranked team in the 25-team poll with an exceptional 3.901 grade point average (GPA). This season, the Cardinals broke their previous record of 18 Scholar All-Americans, with a remarkable 24 wrestlers earning the distinction. To read more about the 24 Scholars, click

In the Scholar Team rankings, Colorado Mesa University trails North Central with a GPA of 3.854 (No. 2). Wartburg College sits at No. 3 (3.827), followed by Sacred Heart University at No. 4 (3.818) and Presbyterian College at No. 5 (3.815).

North Central finished the season as NCWWC national runners-up, just behind the University of Iowa. The Cardinals had two national champions,
Sydney Petzinger (117) and
Amani Jones (124). Twelve North Central wrestlers earned All-American honors at the national tournament. Additionally, the program claimed titles at the Region IV Tournament and the CCIW Tournament.
