2024-2025 WGCA All-American Scholars
July 2, 2025 – The North Central College women's golf team produced five Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars as
Mallorie Clifton,
Anna Meinhart,
Madison Place,
Aleksa Gizewicz, and
Tatiana Cooper earned the honor for their excellence in the classroom and on the course.
To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in at least half of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year, nominated through the team's conference championship.
In total, 1,499 golfers from 403 programs were recognized with WGCA All-American Scholar honors.
Clifton earns the third All-American Scholar award of her career just weeks after being named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree. She competed in every round for the Cardinals and led the team with an 80.89 scoring average. She posted a season-low of 72 and finished in the top five twice during the 2024-2025 season.
Meinhart claims the first WGCA All-American Scholar nod of her career following a sophomore season that featured an All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) performance in the fall. Meinhart was the Cardinals' highest finisher at the CCIW Championships in October, where she placed 10th overall. She played in all 18 rounds of the season and produced an average score of 85.33.
Place continues to add to her resume in her sophomore campaign as she adds WGCA All-American Scholar to her resume that already includes CSC All-District distinction. Place played in all 18 rounds for the Cardinals this season where she fired a season-low of 76, and earned two top-10 finishes. On the year, she posted an average score of 82.11, the second-best on the team.Â
Gizewicz, a repeat WGCA All-American Scholar after being named to the team last season, played in 16 rounds this past season while posting a scoring average of 85.25. Gizewicz tied the school record with a +1 over par 73 and the seventh best 36 hole round (154) in program history at the Highland Championship where she finished fourth overall.
Cooper capped off her collegiate career by becoming a four-time WGCA All-American Scholar. She competed in 15 rounds and held an 88.07 scoring average with her season-low of 83 at the CCIW Preview in September.
North Central's five selections bring its program total to 42 recipients, with the first recognition coming in 2009.
