2025 CCIW Preseason Women's Soccer Poll

Aug. 21, 2025 – For the fourth consecutive season, the North Central College women's soccer team was deemed the favorite in the annual College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Preseason Coaches' Poll, released by the league office Thursday morning.

North Central garnered all eight possible first-place votes in the poll, earning the maximum point total of 64. The 2024 CCIW Regular Season Champion, Carroll University, was second with 51 points, while Millikin University took third with 49 points. Wheaton College was the recipient of a first-place vote, boosting the Thunder to 43 points and a fourth-place finish in the poll. Elmhurst University (37) was slotted fifth, while Augustana College (25), North Park University (24), Illinois Wesleyan University (21), and Carthage College (10) round out the preseason poll.

The Cardinals are coming off their second straight NCAA Tournament appearance after winning the 2024 CCIW Tournament Championship title in a narrow victory over Carroll. The title game went through two overtimes and was ultimately decided by a 7-6 penalty kick shootout. North Central closed out the 2024 season with a 16-5-1 overall record and a 7-1 record in conference play.

The Red and White returns four All-CCIW selections from a season ago, including the 2024 CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Year in Kassandra Salviola. Salviola and Madison DeVriendt both earned First Team All-CCIW honors, while Yazmin Martinez and Olivia Mattison return for the upcoming season as second team honorees.

North Central opens the 2025 campaign with a two-game trip to California. The Cardinals will face Pomona-Pitzer Friday, Aug. 29 at 4:30 p.m. PT in Claremont, Calif. before taking on University of the Redlands Sunday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. PT in Redlands, Calif.
