Aug. 7, 2025 – The North Central College men's and women's wrestling programs have added Jared Head to the coaching staff. Head comes to North Central after one season coaching at College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin school, Augustana College, and will serve as an assistant for both teams.

"We are extremely excited about adding Jared Head to the coaching staff for both men's and women's wrestling," said head women's wrestling coach and associate men's coach Joe Norton '10/M'12. "He brings championship pedigree, having been a part of national championship teams at St. Cloud State, and unique experience, having served both the men's and women's teams at Augustana. I expect him to be a huge boost to both teams, and look forward to the energy that he brings every day."

"We're thrilled to welcome Jared to the staff," said head men's coach and assistant women's coach Grant Zamin M'23. "He knows how to win — both as an athlete and a coach — and brings national championship experience that aligns perfectly with where we're headed. Jared's not just a high-level wrestling mind; he's a culture guy who connects with athletes and builds trust. He's exactly the kind of person you want in the room every day. With his experience coaching both men and women, we're excited to have another full-time leader who will help push this program to the top."

At Augustana, Head helped the Vikings' men's team to a 10-4 record and a pair of fifth-place finishes at the conference and Lower Midwest Regional meets. The Augustana women's program was 4-5 on the season and finished third in the CCIW Championships.

Head was a four-year varsity letter winner at St. Cloud State in Minnesota before returning as a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater. In his final season coaching the Huskies, Head helped lead the men's program to a 14-1 dual meet record in 2023-24. During the season, the team finished third at the NWCA National Duals, which included wins over two top 20 teams. The Huskies ended the year as Region V champions and earned a fifth-place standing at the NCAA Division II National Championships.

Head earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from St. Cloud State in May of 2023 and is currently working towards his master's degree in sports leadership at North Central.
