Sept. 14, 2025 (NORMAL, IL.) – The North Central College women's golf program competed in the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic this weekend at Ironwood Golf Club in Normal, Ill., finishing tied for 14th among some of the region's strongest competition.
The Cardinals were led once again by Mallorie Clifton, who shot rounds of 82 and 78 over the two-day event. Clifton birdied two holes in her second round, including a chip-in birdie on her last hole of the weekend.
Clifton's 160 was good enough for a 35th-place finish among a field of 121 athletes.
The host Titans took home the tournament crown, authoring team rounds of 297 and 298. IWU claimed victory by just three strokes, barely defeating DePauw University's score of 598.
The Cardinals finished with a team score of 654, shooting rounds of 324 and 330, tying with Rhodes College for 14th place.
Anna Meinhart made her return to the North Central lineup, finishing the weekend with a 161 36-hole score. Meinhart finished day two strong, birdieing two of her final three holes. She finished in 41st.
Madison Place played her best round of the season on Saturday, shooting five over par. Place led the field for a portion of the day after birdieing three consecutive holes starting with the 11th.  Â
Place shot an 86 on day two (163 weekend score), putting her in 49th place overall.
Nina Calabria holed a birdie on the weekend on the way to a 170 36-hole score. Calabria finished the tournament in 82nd place.
Freshman Carley Rogers shot two rounds of 87, both of which tied her career low. Rogers finished in 94th.
Aleksa Gizewicz matched her second-best round of the season on Saturday with an 87. Gizewicz finished the weekend with a score of 178, placing her in 103rd.
The Cardinals are back on the course on Sept. 28 in Madison, Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater TPC Invite.
