NORMAL, Ill. (Apr. 12, 2026) - In a 21-team field at the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University, the North Central College women's golf team posted a balanced 10th-place finish as all five Cardinals ended within five strokes of each other over the two-day event at Ironwood Golf Course.
Mallorie Clifton led North Central on Saturday with a 77 (+5), followed by Madison Place at 79 (+7), Anna Meinhart at 81 (+9) and Aleksa Gizewicz at 83 (+11). On a windy second day, Caterina Calabria turned in a team-best 79 (+7), highlighted by a front-nine 38 that matched Clifton's back-nine score from round one for the Cardinals' top nine-hole mark of the weekend. Meinhart added an 84 (+12), while Place and Gizewicz each carded an 85 (+13).
Clifton's eagle on hole seven highlighted her round, though her 86 on Sunday did not factor into the team score. She shared 43rd place with Calabria at 163 (+19). Place followed with a 164 (+20), Meinhart finished at 165 (+21) and Gizewicz closed at 168 (+24). Audrey Jaworsky competed as an individual and recorded a 192 to place 113th. The Cardinals totaled a 653 (320-333), their second-best 36-hole team score of the season.
No. 7 Washington University in St. Louis claimed the team title with a 607 (296-311), followed by No. 30 Wisconsin-Stout at 614 and the host No. 21 Titans at 615. UW-Stout's Julia Imai and Illinois Wesleyan's Grace Fagan shared medalist honors at 147 (+3).
North Central returns to action Friday at the UW-Whitewater Spring Fling at Riverside Golf Course in Janesville, Wis. Play begins at 1 p.m.
