ROCKFORD, Ill. (May 1, 2026) - Behind a stretch of 10 straight pars to close day three of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships,
Jake Delaney secured a First Team All-CCIW honor with a seventh-place finish as the North Central College men's golf team placed eighth at Aldeen Golf Club.
The lone non-freshman in the Cardinals' lineup, Delaney opened with a 74 (+2) that included a front-nine 35 (-1) to share seventh place after day one. He added another 35 on day two, but a six-over back nine moved him to ninth with a 77 (+5). Delaney closed the tournament with a 73 (+1), parring his final 10 holes to finish in a share of seventeenth and earn All-CCIW recognition. His 224 ranks fifth-best in school history for a 54-hole event.
Tre Wienke and Rylan Lother ended day one in a tie for 20th after matching 78s (+6). Wienke recorded three birdies with Lother adding two. In round two, Wienke stood in 25th with another 78 while Lother slipped to 34th with an 82 (+10). On the final day, Wienke improved by a stroke with a 77 (+5) to secure 23rd. Lother's 76 (+4) in round three moved him into a share of 29th.
AJ Ackerson began his first CCIW Championships with an 86 (+14) to round out the Cardinals' day-one lineup. Lundaa Hayanhirvaa posted an 81 (+9) on day two as North Central's third scorer. Hayanhirvaa followed with a 79 (+7) in the final round to finish 43rd. Ackerson completed the Cardinals' group in 45th.
North Central totaled a 939 (316/318/305) to finish eighth. The Cardinals recorded the sixth-best par-three average in the field at 3.30. Wienke led all golfers on par threes at two under with a 2.83 average. Delaney finished with the second-best par-five mark at 4.83, also two under, and led the field with 37 pars.
Illinois Wesleyan University won its 15th straight CCIW Title, finishing with an 867 (+3). Individually, the Titans' Pablo Castro's opening-round 67 (-5) propelled him to the title with a 211 (-5), the only golfer in the field to finish below par.
