WeCOACH Press Release

May 12, 2026 - North Central College head men's and women's golf coach Rachel Gray is one of just 24 coaches nationwide selected for the NCAA Women's Academy 2.0 by WeCOACH, the organization announced Monday.

The program is open only to graduates of the NCAA Women Coaches Academy who are current WeCOACH members. Launched in 2018, Academy 2.0 is now in its ninth cohort. Gray is the only golf coach chosen for this year's class and one of 10 NCAA Division III representatives.

More than 2,500 coaches have completed the NCAA Academy since its inception. Academy 2.0 provides an advanced, immersive experience focused on holistic leadership development, offering alumnae a deeper exploration of personal and professional growth in a highly interactive setting.

Gray is attending through the Mo Harty CCIW Tuition Scholarship, named for former College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Commissioner Mo Harty, who led the league from 2019 until her retirement in 2025. Harty received North Central's Cleo Tanner Award in 2026 for her contributions to women's athletics.

This past year, Gray guided the Cardinals women's golf program to a second-place conference finish, the team's best result since 2013. Four student-athletes earned All-CCIW honors, and Mallorie Clifton set a new program record for lowest 18-hole career average. On the men's side, North Central produced a First Team All-CCIW honoree at the spring championships and recorded five top-10 team finishes.

Gray previously completed the 55th NCAA Women's Coaches Academy in Indianapolis in November 2025. She will continue that development this May as a member of the ninth Academy 2.0 cohort in Denver.
