The North Central College Women's Golf team took eighth place in a field of 15 in the Wartburg Fall Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.

The Cardinals were led by Madison Place and Anna Meinhart for this weekend's action. Place finished in the top ten, placing seventh. She shot five over for the weekend, shooting a 75 on day one with two birdies and a 74 on day two with two birdies. Her score this weekend was a collegiate career low for the senior. Place was especially dialed in on day two between holes seven and 15, generating a par or better for nine straight holes.

Meinhart also shot a career-low this weekend, shooting an 81 on Saturday and an impressive 73 on day two, which was a team low by a stroke. Thanks to three birdies and shooting exactly even on the back nine of day two's action, Meinhart worked her way into the top-25, placing 18^th in a field of 91.

Carley Rogers placed tied for 64^th (+25) but the highlight of her weekend, on the way to career-low score, was an eagle on hole nine of day one. Rogers got herself to within 105 yards on the par four and holed out from there to secure the eagle.

Freshman Quincy Weymouth competed as an independent this weekend and placed T51 (+19). Weymouth's effort this weekend would be the best of her young career so far, thanks to a strong 18 on day two where she shot seven-over-par on Sunday.
Caterina Calabria and Ansley Ellis each shot 21+ and a +37 respectively.

The Cardinals performed well at hole 14 on Sunday as well. As a team, they shot two-under-par, which was their best performance on a hole for the tournament.

The women's golf team will get back into action on Wednesday, September 16^th as they take on the Benedictine University Fall Invite at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club.
