Cardinals Jump to No. 13 in National Rankings

Sept. 29, 2026 – The North Central College women's soccer team has moved up to No. 13 in the Intercollegiate Women's Soccer Organization for Coaches (IWSOC) DIII Top 25 Coaches Poll in partnership with United Soccer Coaches in the Week 3 installment.

The Cardinals jumped three spots after a 1-0-1 week where they defeated Dominican University 2-1 and tied Illinois Wesleyan University 2-2 in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin opener. 

Washington University in St. Louis maintains its top ranking with a 9-0-0 record to start the year, while Washington & Lee University (7-0-0) sits second and Tufts University (4-0-2) made the jump from fifth to third in week three. Rowan University (5-0-0) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (7-1-1) rank fourth and fifth, respectively.

In Region VIII, WashU keeps its hold on the No. 1 spot while North Central moves up to second and University of Chicago falls to third.

The Cardinals are set to take on No. 21 UChicago Wednesday, Sept. 30 in Chicago, Ill. The 4 p.m. match will be streamed on FloSports as well as the FloCollege channel on Amazon Prime Live TV. It will be the only Division III game and the only non-football game that will be shown on the FloSports channel during the fall season.
