DECATUR, Ill. (Apr. 17, 2010) - The North Central College men's golf team resides in the top half of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin standings after the first two rounds of the 72-hole CCIW Championships, which were played at the Country Club of Decatur on Friday and Saturday.
The Cardinals posted a 36-hole total of 619, one stroke ahead of Carthage College. Illinois Wesleyan University sits in first place with 595, seven strokes ahead of second-place Millikin University.
Illinois Wesleyan's Ryan Dorner is the individual leader with a four under-par 140, shooting identical rounds of 70 on both days.
Nick Guido is the top North Central competitor on the leader board, turning in a six over-par 150 to sit fifth overall.
Brendan Chaves is currently 16th (156), while
Steven Panek is 22nd (158) and
Matt Grennell is 27th (161).
The CCIW Championships conclude Apr. 30-May 1 at Cantigny Golf Club in Wheaton. North Central returns to action Tuesday at the Carthage Spring Invitational.
