OAKBROOK, Ill. (Apr. 17, 2015) - The North Central College men's golf team tied for fourth place in the Elmhurst College Spring Invitational on Thursday and were able to place three golfers in the top 25 individually.
The Cardinals shot 311 over the course of the day which tied them for fourth overall with the Concordia University Wisconsin and Wabash College. Elmhurst (295) took first-place followed by Carthage College (298) and Aurora University (307) in third and fourth, respectively.
Sophomore Raymond Cepele tied for 13th place after shooting a 76. Two freshmen Cardinals, Glenn Miller (78) and Felix Valentin (78), tied for 22nd place individually to help the team earn one of their best finishes of the season.
Sophomore Lincoln Slagel (79) tied for 30th place while junior Eric Gruber (84) tied for 64th. Freshmen Vincent Vazquez (87) and Kevin Whalen (91) competed as individuals and placed 71st and 79th respectively.
The Cardinals continue play Friday and Saturday at the Millikin University Weist Foundation Classic being held at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur, Ill. All results can be found at northcentralcardinals.com
