MONMOUTH, Ill. (Apr. 24, 2015) - The North Central College men's golf team completed one round on Friday and finished eighth at the Scot-Fire Invitational after the competition had to be cut short Saturday due to inclement weather.
Kirkwood Community College and the University of St. Francis tied for first place after both shot 292. Black Hawk College (297) took third place followed by Illinois Central College (305) and Millikin University (305) tying for fourth to round out the top five.
Sophomore Lincoln Slagel (74) had an impressive day at Gibson Woods Golf Course and tied for ninth with four others. Houston Gass (69) of the University of St. Francis and Carson Whittington (69) of Kirkwood tied for first while Austin Gass (70) of St. Francis placed third.
Freshmen Felix Valentin (78) and Glenn Miller (81) placed 29th and 50th respectively. Junior Eric Gruber (82) rounded out the group by placing 56th.
The Cardinals compete in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) this Thursday through Saturday at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Ill. All results can be found at northcentralcardinals.com
