Apr. 30, 2019 – North Central College's Hiromitsu Washizu was tabbed as College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Golfer of the Week on Tuesday, the second such award for North Central this season.

Washizu paced the Cardinals to a second-place team finish at the Naperville Intercollegiate on Monday, Apr. 22, shooting a one-over par (73) to place second individually. 

Washizu followed up with a third-place finish at the Monmouth College Invite on Apr. 28, again shooting a one-over par (72) over the 18-hole round, leading North Central to a third-place team finish.

The weekly conference award is the second of the season for North Central, as Zach Bohmer was named Golfer of the Week on Mar. 26, while marking the third career award for Washizu, earning the recognition on Mar. 27, 2018 and Apr. 10, 2018.

North Central begins postseason play on Friday, May 3 at the CCIW Championship with the first two rounds of the 72-hole tournament played at Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, Illinois.  Rounds three and four will be contested on Saturday, May 4 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
