West Chicago, (Sept. 29) – The North Central College Men's Golf team displayed a strong performance in Tuesday's action as they tied for fourth place in the Benedictine University Men's Eagle Invite with a score of 299 (+11).
Joe Luchtenburg led the way for the Cardinals shooting a 73 (+1), placing tied for 10th. Luchtenburg shot one-under-par on the front nine which buoyed his performance on the day.
Jake Delaney and
Alec Rogers both shot a 75 (+3) and tied with each other for 18
th. Rogers birdied on three consecutive holes of each par level. Delaney had a strong front nine, shooting par or better on 11 consecutive holes.
Rylan Lother, coming off a great weekend performance, produced another top-25 finish on Tuesday, shooting a 76 (+4). Lother, like Rogers, did well on the front nine, birdying three times and generating three pars as well.
Lundaa Hayanhirvaa tied for 50
th, shooting a 79 (+7).
Wheaton College won the event shooting a 286 (-2) on the day and there was a four way tie for first between Wyatt Brown, Freddie Chan, Luke Pringle and Micah Chiong.
The Cardinals brought their second team along with them as well.
Marco Mazzuca, who competed as an independent, was the low scorer for the second team, shooting a 76 (+4).

Tre Wienke tied for 59
th (80, +8),
Clayton Schaefer tied for 66
th (81, +9),
AJ Ackerson tied for 91
st (86, +14).
The Cardinal Men's Golf team will conclude their fall season at The Grand Intercollegiate at the Grand Geneva Resort and hosted by University of Wisconsin Stout. That tournament will start on October 4
th and conclude on October 5
th.
