Aurora, Ill. (Sept. 8, 2026) – Competing against a strong group at the Aurora Double Gun, the North Central Cardinals men's golf team placed 16^th in a field of 19 teams at the Aurora Country Club.

The Cardinals shot a 634 as a team, playing 36 holes in one day and were led by Joe Luchtenburg who shot a 154 (+10) on Tuesday, birdied seven times, and tied for 31^st with the field. Senior Jake Delaney trailed Luchtenburg and tied for 36^th with the field, shooting a 155 (+11) on the day. Rylan Lother and Lundaa Hayanhirvaa were the final two spots for the Cardinals, with Lother shooting a 161 (+17) and Hayanhirvaa shooting a 166 (+22) for the event. Freshman Alec Rogers shot a 161 (+17) playing as an independent.

Aurora took home the victory in Tuesday's action shooting 575 (-1) for the event. The Spartans were led by Caleb Negley who finished four under par to win the Double Gun.

North Central will be back in the tee box from September 14-15 for the Firebird Fall Invite. The tournament will take place at Ives Grove Golf Links in Sturtevant, Wis.
