May 10, 2019 - The North Central College men's track and field team's quest to claim qualifying marks for the upcoming NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships got a boost on Friday, as the Cardinals hosted the Dr. Keeler Invitational at Jay and Dot Buikema Track.

Peyton Piron claimed a first-place showing in the 400-meter dash, posting a personal-best finishing time of 47.85 seconds to move into sixth place in the Cardinals' history in the event and currently ranking ninth-fastest among Division III athletes.
Nolan McKenna placed second in the 5,000-meter run (14:23.53), while fourth-place finishes came fom
Kyle LeBlanc in the high jump (6'7.50"),
Al Baldonado in the 10,000-meter run (30:50.68) and
Liam Doran in the javelin throw (184'6"). Chris Beuchner added a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run (3:53.84).
North Central hosts the Gregory Invitational on Wednesday and Thursday, which is its final opportunity to qualify athletes for the Outdoor Champonships in Geneva, Ohio.
