Sept. 7, 2021 - The North Central College men's golf team opened its fall season over the weekend, finishing 13th at the Culver's Edgewood College Fall Classic Friday and Saturday.
 
The Cardinals turned in a 36-hole score of 644, shooting 327 Friday and 317 Saturday. Edgewood shoot 593 to narrowly edge out Wisconsin Lutheran College for first place in the team standings.
 
Concordia University Wisconsin's Jordan Carlton won the individual competition with an even-part score of 142. Sergio Ronchel Salas led the Cardinals with a 23rd-place finish (153; 81 Friday, 72 Saturday). Vail Cordell finished 51st (163), followed by Mitch Boryszewski (64th, 169), Derek Olson (67th, 170) and Jared Moser (75th, 173).
 
North Central returned to competition Tuesday, placing 12th out of 15  teams in the Aurora University Double Gun Classic at Aurora Country Club. Originally scheduled as a 36-hole event, the tournament was shortened to a single 18-hole round due to weather. The Cardinals shot 339 while the host Spartans finished first by 11 strokes at 292.
 
Aurora's Braeden Duncan shot a two under-par 70 to win the individual title. Moser led the Cardinals with an 18th-place showing (79), while Boryszewski finished 30th (81), Sergio Bracco 57th (87) and John Pinkowski 69_^th (89).
 
North Central travels to Eagle Ridge Resort in Galena Friday and Saturday for the Midwest Region Fall Classic.
