Zachary Lunde has been honored with a selection to the 2023-2024 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Team, as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). It is the fifth such award in the program's history and the first since 2020.
Lunde is one of 208 Division III student-athletes from 81 institutions to meet the GCAA's qualifying standards of at least sophomore academic and athletic standing, participation in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 and a grade-point average of at least 3.20. Recipients must also be of high moral character and in good standing at their college or university.
An entrepreneurship major, Lunde participated in 10 of the Cardinals' 11 events during the 2023-2024 academic year, ranking third on the team with an 18-hole stroke average of 78.80 and turning in four rounds at even-par or better. Lunde carded a two under-par score of 70 in the second round of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship to match the seventh-lowest round in the Cardinals' history, as well as a 36-hole score of 145 in the Midwest Region Classic Sept. 22-23 which ranks third-lowest for the program.Â
