Sept. 20, 2024 - Partnering with the national organization RISE for the second straight year, the North Central College athletics department held three workshop sessions for Cardinal student-athletes around implicit bias and stereotypes.

Nearly 300 student-athletes attended in total. During the hour-long session, RISE took student-athletes through various exercises to educate the importance of bias and stereotypes. RISE finished the session with key takeaways that student-athletes can walk away with.

This is the first event of the year that the Inclusion Team hosted with another RISE session and Critical Conversations planned throughout the rest of the school year. The next event is scheduled for October. The Inclusion Team is also continuing the UBelong social media series, to view past UBelong videos, click here.
