Mazzei Claims Program's First All-Region Honor

May 19, 2025 - Earning the first All-Region honor in program history, North Central College men's golfer Mitchell Mazzei was named to the NCAA Division III Golf Coaches Association of America PING All-Region V team, the organization announced on Sunday. 

Mazzei led the Cardinals with a 71.54 18-hole average this season, the lowest season average in school history. Over his 15 rounds, he won three tournaments and finished in the top five on six different occasions. His low round of 65 (-7) came on September 2 at the Highland Championship.

In his two-year career, Mazzei sits atop the program record book for the best 18-hole round (65), 36-hole round (135), and 54-hole round (217). Mazzei also led the Cardinals to a program-best 298.71 18-hole average over 24 rounds. 

North Central concluded its 2024-25 season with a sixth-place finish at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships at Weaver Ridge Golf Course in Peoria, Ill.
