Men’s Golf Begins Fall with 12th Place Finish at Aurora

AURORA, Ill. (Sept. 2, 2025) - The North Central College men's golf team opened its 2025 fall season with a 12th-place finish Tuesday at the Aurora Double Gun, a 36-hole, one-day event held at Aurora Country Club.

Freshman Dillon Che paced the Cardinals with a 9-over-par 153, highlighted by a second-round 76. Fellow freshman Jake Delaney carded a 158 (+14), placing 64th in his collegiate debut. Carter Stephenson (159, +15) and Nicholas Zaimins (170, +26) rounded out North Central's team total of 637. Rylan Lother competed as an individual and matched Delaney's score of 158 (+14).

Host Aurora University claimed the team title with a 573, the only score under par in the 20-team field. Wisconsin-Stout (588), Hope College (600), Aurora "B" (600) and St. Norbert College (603) completed the top five.

Aurora's Caleb Negley earned medalist honors with a 5-under-par 139 across two rounds.

North Central returns to action Monday at the Carthage Fall Classic, held at Ives Grove Golf Course and Strawberry Creek Golf Course. The two-day event tees off at 10 a.m.
