Oct. 10, 2009 -- A first half offensive explosion propelled the North Central College women's soccer team past Beloit College (Wis.), 3-0, Saturday afternoon, in a non-conference match at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Emma Bader opened up the scoring in the 16th minute, connecting on a through ball from April Kutchinski. Stephanie Crutchfield extended the Cardinal advantage in the 40th minute, lobbing the ball over the goalkeeper's head on a breakaway after getting a pass from Lauren Omsberg. Jennifer Guy recorded the game's third and final goal less than one minute before halftime with Shannon Finucane notching the assist.

The stout Cardinal defense allowed just two Buccaneer shots on the afternoon as Elise Manzie needed to make just one save for her third shutout of the season.

With the win, North Central improves to 7-5 overall while Beloit falls to 5-6. The Cardinals conclude their three-game homestand on Wednesday, October 14, resuming conference-play against North Park University with kickoff slated for 7 p.m.
