Feb. 23, 2010-- The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced its Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday with North Central College sweeping the award for the third time this season.
Jacob Austin was selected as Track Athlete of the Week while
Jake Winder was honored as Field Athlete of the Week.
Competing at the Cardinal Classic on Saturday at the Al B. Carius Track, Austin established a new facility record, winning the 800-meter run in a provisional qualifying time of 1:54.24. His time is currently ranks 13th on this season's Division III indoor performance list and is the top time this season within the conference.
Winder captures Field Athlete of the Week accolades for the second time this season after improving his automatic qualifying mark in the pole vault, finishing first among collegiate competitors. The senior cleared 17 feet 3/4 inches a vault that currently sits second on the Division III performance list. Winder was also selected as Field Athlete of the Week back on Jan. 26.
Cardinal athletes have won seven CCIW Athlete of the Week awards this season, including sweeping the award on three occasions.

Dan Benton (Jan. 26) and
Matt Borchardt (Jan. 19) have all been honored as Track Athlete of the Week selections while
Peter Geraghty (Feb. 9) and Winder (Jan. 26) have previously been honored as Field Athlete of the Week.
North Central won six events to remain perfect at home this season at Saturday's Cardinal Classic, capturing the team title after more than doubling runner-up Washington University's (Mo.) point total. The Cardinals racked up 245.5 points to Wash U's 93.
The Cardinals host the CCIW Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday.
