DAVENPORT, Iowa (Oct. 8, 2011) - The North Central College women's golf team duplicated its best finish ever in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament over the weekend at Emeis Golf Course, placing second in this year's event to Illinois Wesleyan University.
The Cardinals, who turned in the most consistent scores of any team in the field during the three-day event, finished with a total of 1,013 strokes to finish six strokes ahead of third-place Carthage College. Illinois Wesleyan won the team trophy for the 10th consecutive year, totaling 955 strokes.
IWU's Katie Klosterman won the individual champion, carding 226 strokes during the 54-hole tournament to finish seven strokes clear of runner-up Brittany Holmes of Millikin University.
North Central had two individuals finish in the top 10 to earn All-CCIW honors, as
Mallory Carr finished third with 241 and
Marisa Miko finished ninth with 251.
Mary Kate Rohn, who entered the final day of competition in the top 10, wound up 14th with 257, while
Alayna Dufour placed 26th (269),
Kayla Hutcherson placed 32nd (277) and
Holly Dryden finished 37th (288).
