BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Mar. 13, 2021) - Claiming first-place finishes in half of the 16 events on the schedule, the North Central College men's track and field team closed the 2021 indoor season with a flourish Saturday in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Elite Invitational at Illinois Wesleyan University.
The Cardinals' eight event victories included a new North Central indoor varsity record, as
Jamauri Spivery's time of 6.99 seconds in the 60-meter dash brought him the win and the top spot on the all-time list. The Cardinals nearly pulled off a sweep of the sprint events, as
Michael Stanley won the 400-meter dash (49.63) and narrowly missed out on the 200-meter title, as his time of 22.49 was just behind Millikin University's Jackson Allen's winning mark of 22.48.
