WATERLOO, Iowa (Jan. 24, 2022) - The North Central College women's bowling team took seventh place in the Peacocks Classic over the weekend in Waterloo, Iowa while Jessica Ramirez set a new program record with a single-game score of 263.

The Cardinals beat Illinois Wesleyan University 710-542 in the final round of the tournament and took 7th place overall. 

Ramirez had the single highest game (263) in individual play by anyone in the tournament. Ramirez placed third among 52 bowlers and averaged 198.33 per game. Kaitlyn Cavender from Valparaiso was the individual winner placing first in the tournament. She averaged 200.00 per game and had a game-high of 222. Lilu Smith from Valparaiso placed second in the tournament with a 199.50 per game and a single highest score of 222.  

Kaitlin Freundt was the next Cardinal bowler placing 18th for the weekend with an average of 171.83 per game. Freundt's single highest game score was 197 in her fourth game. Following Freundt the next Cardinal was Talia Roti placing 28th. Roto's single highest game score was 183 and she averaged 163.33 per game. 

Valparaiso University won the event overall by beating Marian University in the championship match. Aurora University, Quincy University, and Augustana College finished off the top five spots. 

The Cardinals will host a CCIW Competition on Feb. 5 in Naperville at Bowlero.
