WAUKESHA, Wis. (Nov. 21, 2023) - The North Central College women's bowling team took part in the first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Competition Date for the 2023-2024 campaign Friday and Saturday at Sunset Bowl.
The Cardinals played four traditional-format matches, losing to Marian University (899-650), host Carroll University (764-742), Augustana College (908-701) and Aurora University (793-665). In three Baker-format matches, North Central was beaten by Lakeland University (637-602), Carthage College (924-686) and Elmhurst University (908-599). Marian finished first in the team standings with a record of 7-0.
Marian's Brenna Schiekiera placed first in the individual standings with an average pinfall of 232.0 across four matches in traditional play.
Jessica Ramirez led the Cardinals with an average of 188.25, good enough for seventh out of 57 competitors. Ramirez's score of 224 againt Carroll was the highest total by any North Central player in the tournament.
Cheyanne Patterson finished 18th overall (167.50), while
Lily Ratledge was 27th (141.25),
Grace Chivari was 29th (133.0) and
Julie Concepcion was 45th (59.50).
North Central resumes competition Jan. 27-28, traveling to Suburbanite Bowl in Westmont for the NCAA Division III Invitational, co-hosted by Aurora and Elmhurst.
