LOCKPORT, Ill. (Oct. 17, 2022) - The North Central College women's bowling took on a steep challenge in its season opener Wednesday and responded in kind, winning a traditional-play match against the Lewis University Flyers at Strike & Spare II.

Lewis enters the season ranked 20th nationally by the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) and fourth in the NTCA's Division II/III rankings. The Cardinals, however, used a balanced effort to record an 872-808 victory in traditional format as Deena Rachel led the way with a score of 188. Talia Roti scored 186, while Jessica Ramirez totaled 182, Kaitlin Freundt 171 and Lily Ratledge 145.

The Flyers did win four of five games in Baker-format competition.

The Cardinals travel to Rock River Lanes in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, Saturday and Sunday for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawk Classic.
