INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 11, 2023) - Rising four spots in the standings in the final round of play, the North Central College men's golf team finished its 2023 fall season with a sixth-place showing in the Wabash College Invitational. The 54-hole event was contested Monday and Tuesday at Broadmoor Country Club.

The teams played 36 holes Monday, as the Cardinals turned in 18-hole rounds of 311 and 299 to sit in a tie for 10th place in the 15-team field. North Central's 36-hole score of 610 is its third-lowest of the season and the seventh-lowest in the program's history. North Central's third-round score of 308 on Tuesday was the fourth-lowest in the field and moved it into a three-way tie with Wabash and Webster University for sixth with identical scores of 918.

Centre College (Kentucky) shot 899 to win the team competition by two strokes over runner-up Rhodes College (Tennessee), while Connor Caparos of Sewanee (Tennessee) turned in a six under-par score of 210 to win individual medalist honors. North Central's Mitchell Mazzei earned All-Tournament Team honors with a fourth-place individual showing, coming in three under-par at 219. Mazzei shot an even-par total of 72 in Monday's first round and closed with a one-under 71 on Tuesday.

Brendan Joy shot 226 to finish in a tie for 14th place overall, while Zachary Lunde finished 23rd (228), Cole Martin placed 80th (251) and Braden Estes came in 84th (254). Competing as an individual, Mitch Boryszewski finished 56th with a score of 238.
