Men’s Track Win Two Events In Bloomington

Feb. 10, 2024 – The North Central College men's track and field team traveled around the Midwest Saturday, taking home multiple top-three finishes and two event wins.

At the Illinois Wesleyan University Titan Open in Bloomington, the Cardinals took home two first-place finishes between the efforts of Jacob Everix and Jayden Leise. In the triple jump, Leise took first with a height of 14.10 meters (46 feet, 3.25 inches) while Everix achieved first with a time of 15:01.53 in the 5000-meter run. Braden Nicholson also notched a time of 14:23.64 in the 5000-meter run in the Midwest Elite meet at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, which becomes the sixth-best time in the program's all-time top ten.

North Central also sent competitors to the Grand Valley State University Big Meet in Allendale, Michigan, taking home a second-place finish in the 3000-meter run with Connor Riss clocking in at 8:25.97. In Chicago, Anthony Zajac took the top mark in the weight throw with a 15.63m (51' 3.35"). Anthony Divenere represented the Cardinals with the third-best pole vault at 4.40m (14' 5.23").

North Central returns home to Al. B Carius Track for the annual F. Lee Slick Invitational on Friday with events scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
