Jan. 3, 2024 – The North Central College men's track and field team traveled to compete in the Walter Cramer Invitational and Tadd Metzger Invitational, winning two events and marked two new entries into the program's all-time top ten list.
The Cardinals sent
Jacob Ahlberg to Kenosha to represent the program in the heptathlon with Ahlberg finishing fourth, achieving a sixth-best score in the program's top ten list with 3,556 points.
In Bourbonnais, North Central won two events between
Jayden Leise and
Jacob Everix. On the field events side, Leise won the triple jump with a mark of 13.66 meters (44 feet, 9.75 inches) while
Michael Robinson followed behind in third with 13.19m (43' 3.25"). The weight throw saw North Central set a new fourth-best mark with
Gavin McAlister's throw of 16.55m (54' 3.75") which placed him second in the event. On the high jump side,
Colton Oleson obtained a third-place mark of 1.92m (6' 3.5").
For running events, Everix won the 3000-meter run for the Cardinals with a quick 8:36.76 narrowly ahead of BJ Sorg finishing in 8:38.34.
Marcus Caselberry took home a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdle (8.48) and fourth-place time in the 60-meter dash (7.03). In the mile run,
Logan Schaefer represented the Cardinals in second with a finish of 4:29.64.
North Central continues its road meet schedule on Feb 10th at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet and Windy City Rumble.
