USTFCCCA Checkpoint #3
NEW ORLEANS (Feb. 10, 2026) – A strong weekend of competition across the country resulted in a shift in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) latest Track & Field Ratings Index as the North Central College men's track and field team dips to 16th in Checkpoint #3.
The Cardinals totaled 33.31 points in this week's index to stay in the top-20 at No. 16. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh held steady atop the rankings with 273.23 points, while UW-La Crosse moved into the No. 2 spot with 256.67 points. Rowan fell to third with 225.49 points, and Wartburg was slotted fourth with 114.72 points.
BJ Sorg and
Cole Oleson's marks in the 5,000-meter and high jump, respectively, maintained rankings within the top-10. Sorg's time of 14:15.43 in the 5k sits fourth nationally, while Oleson's 2.06m (6'9") clearance ranks sixth in Division III.
Randy Reed currently sits 12th in the 200m (21.57) and 36th in the 60m (6.88). Along with Sorg, three additional Cardinals rank in the top-35 in the 5k as
Oscar Frontjes sits 19th (14:48.21),
Jacob Kluckhohn in 26th (14:53.23), and
Aidan Armstrong in 32nd (14:57.91). Additionally,
Jayden Leise ranks 30th in the triple jump (14.34m, 47'0.50").
North Central is set to host the Chicagoland Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 14, at Al B. Carius Track inside Wilde Res/Rec Center. Competition is set for a 10:30 a.m. start.
