United Soccer Coaches' Poll Six Rankings

Oct. 15, 2019 - Following a week in which they compiled a 1-1 record, the North Central College women's soccer team remains eighth on the United Soccer Coaches' Central Region Rankings, released Tuesday.

After re-entering the rankings last week, the Cardinals played a tough Illinois Wesleyan team on the road, ultimately dropping the contest by a 2-1 final in overtime. The Cardinals then rebounded from that overtime loss with another overtime game against Carroll University on Saturday, this time coming out on top on a golden goal in the second overtime by Kily Egan to win the game 1-0.

Those two contests are part of a recent run of impressive performances to begin their College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) slate of games, as they have gone 3-1 so far within the conference. Overall on the season, the Cardinals sit 7-5-1 and are pushing towards a conference tournament berth, currently sitting second behind Wheaton.

Other CCIW members that appear in the regional rankings are Wheaton at no. 2, Illinois Wesleyan at no. 4, and Augustana College at no. 9.

Moving along towards that CCIW Tournament, the Cardinals play two games this week at home, starting off against Carthage College on Oct. 16, followed by Senior Day against Wheaton College on Oct. 19.
