DES MOINES, Iowa (Apr. 24, 2021) – The North Central College men's outdoor track and field team sent a handful of individuals and a pair of relay teams to the nation's most high-profile meet in the Drake Relays for the 38
th consecutive year, highlighted by a pair of top-10 performances.
Gabe Pommier turned in the top performance of the weekend for the Cardinals, finishing second in the 1,500-meter run in a time of 3:50.10, less than three seconds off his personal-best time of 3:47.29.
Also turning in a top-10 finish was
Nick Janca in the high jump, clearing 6'4.75". The 4x100-meter relay team consisting of
Kendall Johnson,
Michael Stanley,
Maceo Findlay and
Jamauri Spivery crossed the finish line in a time of 42.53 seconds to finish 12
th.
Also running in the 4x400-meter relay were Stanley and Findlay, also joined by
Erik Musgrave and Pommier to finish 23
rd in a time of 3:23.34. Musgrave also competed in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing in 20
th-place, while Spivery finished 25
th in the 100-meter dash, completing the short sprint in 11.43 seconds and Stanley added a 17
th-place finish in the 400-meter dash (49.66).
North Central returns to action on Friday, Apr. 30 at the Don Church Twilight Meet hosted by Wheaton College in the final tune-up before the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships on May 7.
