Women’s Bowling Takes 11th at Flyer Classic

LOCKPORT, Ill. (Feb. 14, 2022) - The North Central women's bowling team took part in the Flyer Classic over the past weekend, hosted by Lewis University. The Cardinals posted a 3-9 record on the weekend to earn 11th place.

Kelly Heighway bowled a new game-high of 233 in her third game of the day. Heighway averaged 181.0 per game with the highest total pinfall for the Cardinals at 905. Her score of 233 in game three falls fourth all-time in program history. Jessica Ramirez had the next highest total with 879 pins knocked over and averaged 175.8 per game. Talia Roti averaged 151.6 per game and had a total pinfall of 758. 

The Cardinal fought hard in baker play but ultimately came up short in all four matches. Their match against Carthage was neck and neck but the Cardinals lost 781-816 to the Firebirds.

In bracket play on Sunday, the Cardinals posted a 2-1 record with two wins over Dominican University to take 11th place. Those two wins helped set a season-record of 17 wins in a season, breaking the 2019-2020 record with 16 wins.

The Cardinals travel to Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois Feb. 19 for the Elmhurst University Quad, hosted by Elmhurst University.  Click HERE for the full 2021-2022 schedule.
