PEORIA, Ill. (May 3, 2025) - Setting a program record for the lowest 54-hole round in program history, the North Central College men's golf team fired an 899 over the three-day College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships at Weaver Ridge Golf Course to earn fifth place in the league.
Mitchell Mazzei earned All-CCIW honors with a 217 (+1), tying his best collegiate 54-hole score, the lowest in program history. He shot a 67 (-5) on Saturday to take sixth place. Cole Martin finished in a tie for 23rd place with a three-day score of 228 (+12), shooting three straight rounds of 76. Brendan Joy, Zachary Lunde and Carter Stephenson all tied for 28th place with a 230 (+14) for the event.
Michael Spitzer of Illinois Wesleyan University won the individual title with a 208 (-8), including a 65 (-7) in round two. The Titans claimed the team crown as all five golfers earned All-CCIW with a team score of 847 (-17). Millikin University (882, +18), Wheaton College (892, +28) and Carthage College (894, +30) rounded out the top four places ahead of the Cardinals.
