NCAA Division III Regional Rankings

Oct. 26, 2022 - As the regular season nears its end, the North Central College women's soccer team finds itself ranked third in both the United Soccer Coaches poll and the NCAA Division III Region VIII rankings. The United Soccer Coaches released its poll on Tuesday while the NCAA announced its rankings on Wednesday.

The Cardinals (11-1-4) completed last week's competition with a 1-0-1 record as they tied with the Millikin University Big Blue (5-6-3) 1-1 on Wednesday before taking down the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) regular season champion, Illinois Wesleyan (8-3-3), 3-2 with a last-minute goal on Saturday.

Calvin (14-0-1) continues to reign in the United Soccer Coaches Region VIII rankings at the No. 1 spot as it has all season. Despite taking down the No. 1 team in the conference, North Central dropped to third while Illinois Wesleyan made the jump into second. 

On the same front, Calvin ranks first in the NCAA regional rankings followed by Dominican (12-3-2) in second and North Central in third. Illinois Wesleyan ranks fourth followed by Milwaukee School of Engineering (12-3-4), Fontbonne (12-1-1), and WashU (6-4-5).

North Central rounds out its regular season play tonight, Oct. 26 with its final CCIW matchup against the Augustana College Vikings. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Thorson-Lucken Field.
